Mardi Gras on St. Charles

We were so fortunate this year to hang out with the Vitas at a family members condo for the whole weekend of Mardi Gras (Sat-Tues!.) It was SOO nice to have a place for the girls and us to go to the bathroom etc. Of course the girls LOVED the fact that they were with their best friend Lilly Kate. I know Jill and I have kind of set them up to be best friends since we were getting together once a week while we were PREGNANT with them..so they have literally been together since before birth! They TRULY love each other and is so much fun to watch them together! They squeal like teenagers every time they see each other and run up to each other and give each other hugs! (this can be 15 minutes after seeing each other at one place then going to another!) We are soo fortunate to have such AWESOME friendships!!!

Abigail deep in thought watching the bands!

Amelia and Daddy!

Between the parades everyone hangs out in the street! It is kind of funny if you aren't from here or been to a parade in New Orleans... Everyone walks up and down St. Charles, line dance in the street, eating food, throwing footballs, throwing down snap and pops, and of course play with silly string! The girls had asked that morning if we could get some cotton candy and Brian had told them yes!
The above pic is them on the way to the cotton candy man!

GOT IT!

I had bought numerous cans of silly string at the Dollar Tree (since it's $4 on the parade route!) The kids had fun but obviously the adults did too! This is Jill getting Ricardo!

A rare pic of the four of them... Amelia, Abigail, Elly and Lilly Kate

Amelia being silly!

Go Elly!

At the condo that day Ricardos family was having a party out by the pool. The girls even sugared up more with cupcakes! It was DEFINTIELY mardi gras with everyone indulging!

BFF!!!

Thanks Jill and Ricardo for some GREAT Mardi Gras Memories!

How fun! I haven't been to Mardi Gras since I moved 10 years ago. (I grew up in New Orleans.) Looks like they had a great time.
