My Ballet Girls

Me Me and Paw Paw gave the girls for Christmas Ballet classes. They have been to three of them now and they think they are just the BEST ballerinas EVER! I think so too!! I can't tell you that I can think of anything cuter than a room full of two year olds with TuTus on!!! They have the CUTEST class and it's so much fun. This is a mom and me class so I get to be in there every week. I will get some better pics this week....These are from the first day and I didn't have my camera on the right setting for the whole class so they didn't all come out ....OOPS...too much participation on my part!

My two ballerina's who REFUSED to look at me-- turkeys!

The girls VERY first friend Lilly is taking the class too!!!

Abigail practicing her balancing skills.

Amelia dancing with ribbons.

I wonder what they were talking about?

So sweet of Ms. Abigail
They dance with different dolls each week. This week it was ballerina dolls.

Thanks MeMe and Paw Paw....you have given them the BEST gift ever!!! They are ALL smiles the whole time-- they absolutely love it!!!!

Mardi Gras Madness

We did the craziness of going to parades every day from Fri-Mon. We were planning on going back for Fat Tuesday but Amelia woke up with 102 fever ( which we now know is the flu) Friday we went to parades here in town, and then Sat, Sun, and Mon we spent in New Orleans or Metairie. I must say the girls LOVE LOVE LOVE a parde. We also went to two parades the weekend before. Their daddy sure loves Mardi Gras and will just about take us along to every parade he can. He is definitely a true new orleanan!

I only brought my camera to one day. It's too hard since it's so big and I was more into watching the girls than taking pics. This day we were down in New Orleans with Erica and her family. THANKS SO MUCH FOR INVITING US!! They had a hotel room which meant we had a bathroom to go to. Josh had also gotten up at 4:00AM and saved us all a spot. Again THANK YOU!!!!

There were four parades that day plus Bacchus. We left for Bacchus but got to see Aunt Beth on her float in the Krewe of Mid City! It was a long day from 11-5, but it was sooo much fun!!!

Amelia and daddy between parades.
Abigail ready to catch some more beads!
Amelia was so excited about her light up wand.
Heather Bella and Erica.
Josh and Reese

Love this pic of her...I think she was dancing to the music.

Here is what the girls looked like from in the middle of the street in their ladder.
Throw me somthing mister. The girls SCREAM this-- it is absolutely hilarious.
Loving on some of her animals.

Watching all the floats going by.

Snack time.
Little Ms. Bella...isn't she a doll? Katie (Erica's sister) with Ms. Reese
Here is where we were that day...all the ladders in a row.....
I couldn't even get all the ladders in from across the street there were too many of us all together. We had an amazing Mardi Gras. The girls are definitely Mardi Gras girls!!!!
Hope you all had a wonderful Mardi Gras where ever you were!!!

Parade Pics

Thanks Ms. Sandy for these pics....
I was soo worried that I would miss the girls while on the parade route. This is when I saw them. I was so excited that they saw me and I got to see them. Yes I am supposed to have my mask on but I knew they wouldn't recognize me with it on.

This is the girls when they saw me too!

Krewe of Eve 2008

This year I joined the Krewe of Eve. It is an all woman's krewe and it was sooooooo much fun. I can't wait until next year to ride again. Unfortunately for most people our original night we were going to ride we got rained out. I was still recovering from the flu so I was relieved when I had 3 more days to get better. I was READY by the time the 3rd day came. We had BEAUTIFUL weather and the route was PACKED. I can't even describe how much fun we had on our float. We are almost all mom's in our 30's, and there is around 45 of us on our float! You can only imagine what fun this group was!! I only have one pic that Ms. Sandy sent me from the actual parade (no I wasn't crazy enough to bring my camera on board... you wouldn't believe how little room we have to stand bc of all the beads and stuffed animals on board!)
Our dinner dance is kind of funny...we wear our costumes which are terrible white sweatsuits. At first I thought this was horrible, but dancing the night away in sweats and tennis shoes wasn't so bad!!! The band was awesome and Brian and I ended up staying until the end. Yet again-- can't wait until next year.

Please no comments about the BEAUTIFUL costumes...our float was Batman!

Emily and I at the beginning of the night.

Brian tried to get a couple of shots of the whole float that was there.

Me and Brian.
Paul and Emily!
Can't wait for Mardi Gras 2009!!!
Happy Mardi Gras... Pics of the kids at one of the parades tommorrow!

Yummy King Cake

The girls REALLY enjoyed the couple of King Cakes we got during Carnival time this year. They loved being the one to have the baby in their cake!
